Day Trip to the Beach!

Mason, what are you thinking here?  Mason is very inquisitive.  He loves to walk while holding two fingers for comfort, although he doesn't rely too much on the support any longer.  When I go to set him down in a seated position on the floor, he extends his legs straight out, refusing to sit, and looking to walk.

Hannah has created a make believe family/friend structure with her stuffed animals.  Mini [Mouse] is Hannah's friend, while Pandi is Mini's son.  Hannah's offspring is Froggie, who you can see her reading to here.  Occasionally Hannah takes care of Mini's dog for her, but most often they all go to the candy store together or to Hannah and Mini's office, which is in the sun room.  Hannah is a very good mother to Froggie and often takes care of Mini when she gets sick, too.

Here Hannah and Grace are playing Laura and Mary Ingalls

Mason and Caleb have a play date, too.

The kids loved building towers with Susana.  Susana was impressed with Hannah's ability to understand her despite her accent.

Just because Mom is usually on the other side of the camera.

Beautiful Beach.  Thank you, Aunt Kathy, for suggesting Great Common Island!  We were the third car in line and managed to clutch this prime location, where we had shade, a picnic table, a grill, if we decided to grill our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and were only a stone's throw from the beach!  From our perch on the lawn, we looked out at three lighthouses, one of which is historic.  It was a fantastic day.

Mason could hardly handle being held, but it would have taken too long to let him walk all the way across the beach while holding our fingers.  He was so squirmy, that Dad probably got a workout holding him!

The water was 65 degrees.  Refreshing.

 Science lesson about seaweed!

Looking back at our picnic table from the beach.

 Happy Camper.

Clearly I missed the memo that there was something more interesting to see in the sand than looking at the camera.

Despite making this last minute excursion to the beach, we were able to meet up with The Coastal Crew!  Thanks for making it over to have lunch with us!  And thank you again for the great recommendation!

HOT HOT HOT day!  Hannah was so excited to wear this "onsie like Mason wears," which wasn't really much of a onsie, but did have little snaps at the bottom.

Beatrice and Hannah crafting on the back deck.
Hannah and Beatrice went on a trip to Aunt Carol's house (whoever that is!).  They packed their bags, took a flight, and visited her.  Then, they got married and went on a honeymoon, which was at Storyland!  Bea said that "once [they] are married, [they] are allowed to sleep in the same bed together."  Isn't it fascinating to hear how they perceive things such as marriage?!

Quotes:

While sitting at dinner the other night while talking about Dad because he was out late playing golf, Hannah says, "My Daddy is just the best."

While looking over my shoulder at my blind spot, Hannah instructs: "Focus on the road!"

J:  "If you had a magic carpet, where would you fly?
H:  "To Illinois."
J:  "Where would you go there?"
H:  "Grandma Siri's house."
