Picnic on the deck! What a beautiful day!
Hannah loves the to check on the flowers
If you enlarge this image, you will see that Hannah is saving much of her lunch "for later" on her face :P
Let's see if this crocus needs a little pat.

Getting ready to retrieve the mail.
Proud Dad with his littlest lady.
Hannah is trying out her new Adirondack chair for snack time! Peanut butter on graham crackers is a special treat!
Look at this cutie.
Playing in the sand pile at the local ice cream farm!
Saying "hi" to the donkey
The peacock was on full display!
On Sunday evening around 7pm, just after coming home from having ice cream, looking at animals, and playing at the sand pile, Hannah slipped in our kitchen and landed in a very awkward position, with her leg splayed out and her foot up next to her ear. When she refused to bear any weight on it, we decided to take her in to have it checked out. Long story short, is that she fractured her femur. It is a subtle, spiral fracture that did not break all the way through the periosteum (outer layer of the bone). After 24 hours, we were released from the hospital, Hannah wearing a Spica cast, as you can see in this image. The cast extends from just below her armpits all the way down to her toes on the right foot and to just above her knee on the left leg. She has a small opening for elimination of by-products. It was incredible how tough Hannah remained through the entire experience and how she still is so strong. As soon as we indicated to Hannah that we were going to get her help and put her coat on to go to the hospital, she stopped crying and was a great sport. Not a peep did she make in the waiting room, but only a few winces whenever Jonathan adjusted the way that he was holding her. The x-rays illuminated the break and we were originally told that she would have to have surgery, with a rod put in her femur. Thankfully, this turned out to be inaccurate and she instead was taken in for the night with her leg in traction (2 lbs) and would receive the Spica cast in the morning. We all got to lie down and rest for a bit from 3am to 6am, with one interruption at 4am to read her vitals. On Monday morning, Hannah was administered general anesthesia and the cast was applied in the OR. Dad and Mom had to wait in the waiting room for approximately 50 minutes before we were notified to come to the recovery room to see Hannah. She was waking up from the anesthesia and was a bit upset, which they indicated was to be expected. Shortly thereafter we then returned to our room in the Pedi dept., and waited to talk with an OT, the attending nurse, etc.... Another woman we met with located a car seat called a "Hippo" (from somewhere in the state) for us to barrow in order to transport Hannah. We were finally discharged at 6pm and returned home. Thanks to Mormor and GP Jimbo, we had a lovely dinner waiting for us and many of the necessary tools for Hannah's new lifestyle.
Here's our little girl in her cast.
The hospital loaned us this wonderful Radio Flyer wagon, which we use to cart Hannah around in the house.
This cast isn't going to change our bedtime routine!
Today Hannah's friend, Brooke, came over to say hi. She kindly brought some books that Hannah does not have and played very nicely with Hannah, even doing some tummy time!
Dad is SO good with Hannah. He is much better at transporting her around, too, as she is heavy with the cast (cast is about 5 lbs) and very awkward for Mom to carry.
Time for a little fresh air with Dad.

Oh Miss Hannah, you just are full of life no matter what and we love you soooo much!
Thanks for the update, complete with photos! It's good to see how you all are adjusting in such a positive way. Much love to all!
I'm sooooooo sorry to hear about Hannah!! Kids bounce back so well -- but that was a lot to go through. My love to you all.
That girl is one tough cookie! The cast actually looks better than what I had imagined, though I'm sure Hannah would disagree. At least it's not too hot yet! She'll get that thing off just in time for some summer swimming! Can't wait to see you guys in July.
Dear Family, My heart goes out to all of you. I can see that Hannah is being such a sport with her new attire. Much love and hugs to all of you.
Hannah you are Magical and I'm amazed at how you've adapted and keep smiling! Must have something to do with those Super Parents and G-Ma's and G-Pa's and Aunties and Uncles and Lovin' Friends.....
Glad to hear the water table is splashing!
Love you all,
K
